Love is cute – 6

“Omg! It’s 1am already!” she exclaimed.

Looking at the watch hanging in his room. “Yeah. We’ve been talking for about 3 hours now. I have never done that before.”

“Me too! I do text, but I never talk late into the night,” she whispered.

“Umm, okay..” he said.

“I guess, it’s pretty common for you. You anyway don’t sleep before 2 every night. I don’t even know what you do until those odd hours!” she said.

“Nothing much.. I just surf and read stuff,” he said.

“Okay..” she said, not believing him.

“Umm..” he said, not knowing what to tell.

“So, am off to bed. Sleep soon, you too! And don’t text any girl now. Bye. Good night. See you tomorrow. Love you.” She cut the call.

He found it kind of cute that she was jealous. He sent her a text, “You don’t need to be jealous, sweetie. 🙂 Good night. Love you too.”

“I know, but I can’t help it. I know that you are mine and all mine, yet, whenever I think that you would be sending some girl a text after I go to bed, I just get jealous. I know I shouldn’t, but I do, I can’t help it. Sorry :(” She replied.

“You don’t need to be sorry. Some amount of jealousy is needed to keep the relationship alive. But see to it that the jealousy doesn’t get out of hand and turn to paranoia, obsession and excessive possessiveness. :)” He sent her back.

“Yeah, I will keep that in mind. You are the best. :*”

“Haha! So are you, my girl, so are you :* ”

“Alright then, I’m drowsy. Catch you tomorrow. Sleep soon. Don’t text a girl now :P” she replied.

” I won’t. 🙂 Will wake you up at 8,” he replied.

She looked at the text, smiled, and put the cell aside. She closed her eyes.

Their relationship was totally unlike any other relationship she had come across. It was more like a fairy tale. She was really happy with his being a part of her life and bringing it a new dimension, a new meaning.
He wasn’t anything like she had visualized in her dream guy. He probably didn’t have even a single quality she had wished. She wanted a guy who was cool and happening and who had a taste in latest fashion. He was a simple guy and never bothered about showing-off or being cool. She wanted a guy who loved singing and he hated songs. She wanted a guy who’d get her gifts every now and then without any reason. He seldom bought her gifts. Actually, except her birthday, she never received a gift from him. She wanted someone who was well read, and yeah, he was well read. Except these rare exceptions, all of his habits were either contrary to her wishes or were not matching.
She found him caring and understanding and at the same time, he was adamant and stood his ground when the time came. He had a dry sense of humor that not everybody could understand. He not only looked older than he was, his thoughts, actions and talks were also contrary to his age and ahead of the time and the place he lived in.
She realized that, although he was nothing like her dream guy, she was still happy with him.

With all these thoughts running in her mind, she fell asleep with a broad smile plastered across her face.

Next morning at 7, her mom shook her a little. She didn’t wake up. She shook her again, “Your guy is here.” But she was in such deep slumber that she didn’t hear her mom’s words at all. All of a sudden, she felt someone pulling her blanket from her and in no time, two ice cubes were inside her t-shirt. That cold solid cubes sent shivers all through her body and she jumped off the bed to get those cubes out of her t-shirt. “Mom!” she shouted and put her hand inside her t-shirt and threw that ice-cube in a corner. But, till then, half of it had already melted and droplets of cold water were rolling down her belly. She was half shivering, half dancing. Till then, her back was towards the two people in the room. “Mom, what the hell was that?!” she exclaimed, still not turning around and trying to get those cold droplets out of her t-shirt. Then she heard his laughter. She turned around bewildered, “You!” she exclaimed. He couldn’t control his laughter and her mom joined him too. “That was something..” she said, as she left the room, laughing.

He looked at her top to bottom. Dishevelled hair, drowsy eyes, wet neck, crumpled sleeveless (slightly wet) t-shirt and matching shorts. She was getting uncomfortable under his stare. “What are you doing here?” she whispered to him. “You look beautiful,” he whispered back. “Shut up!” she hissed, but smiled. He winked. She came near him, “I am glad you came this long for me.” She kissed him on the cheeks and whispered, “Go out. I will get refreshed and come soon.” She locked the door behind him.

As she came out of her room, half an hour later, she had put on a jacket on the t-shirt to cover the wet spot. She sat on the dining table with a smirk. “I am not involved. I did tell him that you’d get angry,” her mom told her. She didn’t react, but smiled inwardly. She looked at him and he was smiling too. “She never wakes up before 8 or 8-30. Thanks to you, she is at dining table by 7-30.” Her mom told him. She just stared at her mom angrily. These moms are always ready with their complaints!

“So, sir, what made you come here so early?” She asked him with mock ignorance. “Err, I was hungry and thought I would get some home cooked food,” he said with a smile. Her nostrils flared. Her mom smiled. “And I thought that you were here for me..” she whispered, so that her mom couldn’t hear her in kitchen. “What, me? For you? You got to be kidding me.” He chided her. “Whatever,” she said. You know right, what a woman’s ‘Whatever’ means? Yeah, right, it means F**k you!

They were served and then her mom went to get ready. As she was about to leave, she started giving out detailed instructions to them. He said, “That’s okay, Aunty. We will take care of everything properly. I will drop her home before 4pm and I will stay with her until you return.” She just smiled, said, “Have fun you two,” and left.

As soon as she locked the door, she hugged him tight. “Am so happy that you are here,” she said. “Err, I wanted to give my girl a surprise. That’s what brings me early in the morning here,” he said. “I know..” she whispered, kissing his cheeks. “You sent me a ‘Good night’ at 3-30 am. I saw it when I woke up for water at 5. And I thought that today you’d wake up later than me.” He smiled and said, “Just a few days ago we were talking about my coming home to surprise you and you getting to see my face first thing in the morning. So, I am here.” She smiled and said, “Thank you!”

Then she slapped him twice. “These are for those ice-cubes!” she said and ran into her room. But before she could lock the door behind her, he was already inside. She tried to run, but he held her hand and pulled her towards him. She caught him to balance herself and even before she could balance herself properly, his lips were already enveloping hers, sending a shiver down her spine. She pulled back for breath, after what seemed like an eternity and smiled. “Your touch always gives me goosebumps,” she said. “I know..” he whispered, nudging her ear lobe and tingling her even more.

They finished their break-fast. She went for a bath and came out after an hour. He was waiting for her in the room. She looked ravishing in a blue jeans and red top, her wet hair making her look even more beautiful. He looked on as she got ready, combed and applied the creams. The whole room was filled with the fragrance of her deo and creams. He was so enchanted that he suggested that they drop their idea of the movie and just stay in the bed. She playfully hit him on the shoulder and had to literally drag him out of the room and eventually, the house.

They went for a movie. Then had lunch at a nearby restaurant. And on her insistence, were back home by 3. She laid down on the bed, making his hand as her pillow as his other hand was on her naked belly, talking sweet-nothings to each other. He just loved the smell of her’s and she loved to be in his arms. They cut out the whole world out of their thoughts and lost themselves into each-other’s arms.

They were a happy happy couple. 🙂
Love is cute, indeed.
